Machining
At Brilex, precision machining is a cornerstone of what we do. Whether it be complex one-offs or high quantity runs, we combine best in class machinery with a skilled team of dedicated employees to meet our customers' challenging requirements.
Backed by a full-time programming and tooling staff, we plan for accuracy, repeatability and compliance to our clients’ needs before the job even meets the machine.
Our in-house capabilities include manual and CNC milling, drilling, boring, and turning across 25+ work centers, with a cross-trained workforce to operate various machines, giving us flexibility when challenging components take multiple processes. Additionally, our inspection teammates, using top-of-the-line equipment, work with the machining group to verify parts in process, upon completion, or both if your project demands it.
All of this is backed by our detailed project management and quality control processes to ensure projects stay on schedule and according to budget.
Our equipment at a glance:
Horizontal Boring Mills
4 HBMs ranging from 4’ in travel up to 430″ X-axis travel x 157″ Y-axis travel, all with special angled attachments for those hard-to-reach features.
CNC Vertical Bridge-Type Milling Machines
Our 5-Axis machining centers include equipment such as our state-of-the-art Hexram, boasting 465″ X-axis and 160″ Y-axis travel and a 0.01° indexing head.
CNC Pallet Type Horizontal Machining Centers
For those higher quantity runs, we have multiple dual-pallet HBMs equipment with on-machine probing capabilities to maximize efficiency, repeatability, and accuracy.
CNC Vertical Milling Machines
Traditional vertical machining is the mainstay of the machine shop, including this new Hyundai VMC which offers 96″ X-axis x 37″ Y-axis travel, multi-size automatic tool changer, and probing capabilities.
Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL)
Our industry leading VTL capabilities are headed by the Phoenix VT-5218-5 which can swing 216″ in diameter, up to 132″ under rail, and includes two live spindle rams for maximum efficiency.
CNC Live Spindle Lathes with Y Axis
CNC Live Spindle Lathes with Y-Axis with swings up to 47″, 128″ of Z-Axis Travel, and up to 32″ of chuck size to get your job done.
CNC Turret Lathes
Multiple 3-axis CNC turning lathes up to 23″ swing over bed and 16″ over cross slide, with 60″ centers to meet your throughput needs.
